Turtles, Birds, and a Planned Park: Bear Creek in Central Point

This walk will be approx. 1 mile out and back, mostly flat (2 mi. round trip), on a paved path and an unpaved trail along the Bear Creek Greenway from near Pine St. to Table Rock Rd. We will visit a small pond used by Western Pond Turtles. This species has recently been proposed for listing under the Endangered Species Act

KS Wild and Rogue Riverkeeper are hosting a screening of two environmental films in a new Fall Film Series, to inspire activism through film. On November 16th  6-9pm:  Sisters in Arms: This 70-minute film that depicts what it looks like to be a young environmental advocate today. With Introduction by the creator, Henri De Gerlanche, and we are honored to host a very special virtual Q&A afterwards with Julia Butterfly Hill!

Beaver Days: 2nd annual restoration event

Join Rogue Riverkeeper, Vesper Meadow, and Project Beaver to ‘behave like beavers’ and implement our biggest single push for Latgawa Creek and Spencer Creek restoration yet. We need your help in making human-created beaver-based structures in the creek with small woody debris, removing invasive plants, willow staking, and planting native shrubs.
