Celebrate Earth Month with Rogue Riverkeeper

Coming Back Together!

April is Earth Month—a time we celebrate environmental progress, educate each other about stewardship and justice, and advocate for sustainable policies and practices. April 22nd is Earth Day, and our community will gather to celebrate in-person events for the first time in three years.  Whether it’s removing trash and debris from local waterways or meeting new supporters through fundraising events at local Aveda salons, you’ll find Rogue Riverkeeper celebrating Earth Day with the Rogue Valley community all month long!

Earth Day Events

SOU Earth Day Extravaganza:

Bear Creek Stewardship Day Clean-Up:

April 23rd, 9am-12pm at various locations along Bear Creek

Want to get outside and make a difference in your community? Rogue Riverkeeper is partnering with Jackson County and other organizations in inviting all community members to keep Bear Creek clean! Registration is through the Bear Creek Stewards website, where you can select from a number of stretches along Bear Creek. Choose the one closest to you, or work a long a stretch you’ve never visited. It’s a great opportunity to meet neighbors and other stewards of local waterways. If you’d like to join Rogue Riverkeeper, sign up for the Coyote Trails Nature Center site in Medford.

Supporting Clean Water

Two of the Rogue Valley’s local Aveda salons have made it a tradition each April to combine their goal of product sustainability with action to support access to clean, safe drinking water and healthy waterways by fundraising for Rogue Riverkeeper. Local Aveda salons—Be Cherished Salon in Ashland and Gervais Day Spa & Salon in Medford—make it clear that clean water is important by taking their fundraising efforts to the next level! Stop in anytime during the month of April to enjoy the salon’s services and products—no appointment needed!

This year, the salons will have several fun ways to support our work for clean water in the Rogue, so please visit these local businesses and tell them you appreciate their efforts on behalf of Rogue Riverkeeper.

Want another way to honor the Earth this month?

Become a supporter of Rogue Riverkeeper! There is no stronger step you can take to preserve and restore the extraordinary rivers, streams, and fish found in the Rogue River basin than by supporting our work. Thank you!
